Greetings, Paul, hope all is well. Have some questions for in regards to a engine I am planning on for my 1968 Firebird 400 HO. In a nutshell, my plan is to put together an engine in appearance to being original, but "a little bit" more power than original. Wanting to stay flat tappet cam. Good forged rods & pistons. Heads are #16, carb is a Q-jet #7028271, intake stock, long branch exhaust, 3.55 rear gears & M20 Muncie. Thinking a high lift version of the 068 cam may be a good cam for good street performance. Not worried about compression being, it will always have a good mix of ethanol free 91 octane & racing fuel. What are your thoughts? Thanks in advance!
