    on that tag, I would not be surprised if the stamping which is recessed- was done while it was on the vehicle. It may be hard to tell, but this may be a case where the stamping actually went deeper and into the actual firewall as well. If you would like- call the man who makes the tags for people who have lost them or whatever- AG Backeast. he may be able to answer this for you. 860-877-4440. I think his name is Carl if I recall. I had him make me a tag for my 68 because it was eaten away by salt. Let me know when a 65 goes up!
