Well if you are going to keepit look for a carrier and gears used on here or pick up a used posi rear and switch the whole center section out, this would be cheaper. That car which I put 70K on was not very fast, might have taken a Yugo off the line, then again maybee not. Only 2 pedal positions floor and off the gas. I think I got like 24 MPG in it though. The car had a 2BBL to boot. Well that was the free motor from you, it shook like a SOB till the day i sold it, realize today that you have to have a specific 301 flexplate as they are weighted different due to the 301 crank being different. Car looked cool but definately was all show no go. Mark

I might just buy a set of gear from yukon and a new trac-lock because my diff if only good up to 2.73 , if it had the 3.08 diff I could go allthe way to 4.11. I cant imagine a 301 with 2.41 gears, must have been a slug, this one turns on hard after 40mph, but takes a bit to get there, You must have had the 301 on the floor board every time you drove it. Imagine a 301 with 2.41 gears. I got great milage though. That would make a hell of a car to comute to work in, look for a set of 3.08 gears if you want a bit of milage out of it. A 455 with 3.08 should still be really decent for an all around driver. Mark

Yes cubic doller's are a must. I am not sure if I want to dump the red car or not. I might get rid of the 2.41 gears and re-gear it to 3.23 or so . the car right now will do 75 mph in first gear , I took dad for a ride tonight , after about 40 mph it pulls hard and feels like a t/a should before that it feels like a 2.8 camaro. LOL

That is for sure, I have just too much stuff but as i start putting things together it should get better and I can dump the stuff I do not want. Like they say all can be fixed or made faster with cubic dollars. Mark

Yeah thats what I am tring to do . Thats why I will most likely dump the red car so i can consentrate on getting the other car down it will also accelerate the funding for the other car. so far with the motor build I have 8,500 into the grey on but you cant take it with you. LOL

Yeah they are not getting any easier to find for sure. The WS-6 helps it be a bit more saleable and the resale red won't hurt either. Black cars are cool as hell but they have to be strait to be that way. Do it once and make sure that you are happy with it. Mark

Mark, It is a ws6 car with 4 wheel disc, and a th400, it has the Olds 455 , I may clean it up and advertise it, if i cant sell it I will just sit on it for a while, Its not rusty actually its very solid has some rust right in front of the rear bumper but thats it. I may still go with the 77-78 nose really guess I dont know at this point. I figure if I cant get 4-5k out of the red car its worth that much as a street beater. Just tires get expensive LOL.

Keith Well is it a ws6 disk breake rear car? I think you said no, but anyway the market sucks right now. As long as it is not rusty you should be able to pull that ball park out of it. You can advertise it on here for free. You need to clean the hell out of it and make it look as good as you can, makes a big difference. Personally i like the 77-78 nose as it is cool, 79 is OK looks good on a bandit car with the gold accents on the HL bezels and the lower grills. mark

Really losing interest in the red car now, i just want to get my 400 in the gray car so next spring I can finish the paint and body work and make it in to a T/A clone. I think I may keep the 79 nose cone though just because last hot rod show I went to 3/4 of the cars have 77-78 nose on them. and I might go with a dark smoke grey instead of full on black. who knows any way I want to get the motor back into it. I might just put the red car up for sale and that should give me the money to finace the grey car. I figure the red car should be worth 4-5k is a decent driver and its a real T/A with a th400 trans and a lot of up grades. What are your thoughts on Price?
