This is very common on those carriers. I used to pull them from the junkyard a lot to resell on ebay. almost half the time they would be broken, im assuming from the weight of the pin pushing on it...

Well, after wasting money on stuff I didn't even use I got it fixed, LOL. I ended up just tapping it to the next closest size up in metric which is M10-1.5 which is very close to 3/8-16.
