Thanks for that, Jack. Seems like a reasonable solution since there is no other reason to pull the manifold (again) and the head. I have some nice 6061 I can pattern from a gasket and bolt that on....

The power drums on my '67 Bonneville wagon stopped that car pretty well. Of course the 4 piston disk brakes on my '67 GP are better, but you may want to look into why yours are not working well...
