If it were me, and considering the engine harness...

If it were me, and considering the engine harness is likely original, which puts it at >50years old....I think I'd just buy a new engine harness.

It works great I used a Ford G switch to shut it off incase of an accident. I only had one problem and that was some varnish got into the small jet into the aluminum container after a winter...
