It works just like I said it did. All the Q-jets with the larger primaries are NOT "800" cfm, and never have been. The factory used quite a few different stops on the secondary shaft to control CFM...

Is the check ball in place? I had a problem with a flat spot once and it turned out to be one of the squirt holes had some casting flash so I cleaned it out with a torch tip cleaner.

Safety warning welding and brake cleaner. Never mix them!

You can always do a remote solenoid too, or go to a mini starter.
