On mine, the manifold vacuum comes off the back...

On mine, the manifold vacuum comes off the back of the carb tee that supplies the brake booster. The ported comes off the front of the drivers side ported vacuum port.

I don't think that would be necessary. If there was a lot of air in there, it just would have taken a lot more to pump it up because the air compresses. If it is holding for an hour all is good.

Gap closed up a lot

Thanks to a fellow member here, I got hooked up with an original water pump for my 73 Formula, with a cast iron impeller which looks pretty big, measuring about 4 3/8" diameter with 8 tapered vanes....

Pictures of Drivers side front shoulder and lap belt

Here are pictures of the front drivers side shoulder belt end, with a side profile, and then I latched it into the lap belt so you can see how it fits into that portion, and then I hooked it all up...
