I wouldn't use an oil thinner than 10w on a flat tappet camshaft. Newer engines with roller setups can tolerate a thinner oil due to less friction. Just my 2 cents.

The only exception is some heavy truck alternators...

That's my style right there, I love big comfy boats that float along. LOVE my '95 Towncar. Fuel mileage on the highway is fantastic (27-28MPG, as high as 32) but gets sketchy in town though (17-19)....
