I run 17x8 US Mag Bandits on my car. The tire I run is 245/45/17. You can easily run this tire, even with some drop in the front. I have a coil cut in the front.
I believe LeighP runs a 255/55/17....

and during the tapping process leave enough uncut threads to really lock the plug into, and some red Loctite would not hurt eitheir!
