Yep 100% correct. I can make a brake hyd line or a wheel cyl. burst if I really stand on the brake pedal in my 2001 Chevrolet 3500 work truck.

Change the carb to the quadtrjet. Put a 2" exhaust system with no X or H pipe. Use a pair a Dynomax Super Turbos.

Keep the rear end, it will work perfectly with the TH400.

If you bought another brake pedal and cut the pedal off one and sister the two together and lower the brake pedal 2". This really changes things with the manual set up. I like a 8:1 ratio.

I would put a 3:08 in it and tune around that.. A cam change to something with less duration and more lobe separation will probably be needed but it will run so much better, be faster on the street...

I would try to pick up a set of 8 lug wheels now that Diamond Back makes the tires that fit there 14"x 7" wheels... Those 8 lugs stop like a dream the ones on my 64 stopped better then the disc...
