I'm not recommending doing what we did, just letting people know we did it.

I'm. 003 on rods and .0035-.0037 on main and run 5w 20 and spin to 9000rpm. Bearing looked almost new after 2 seasons. I'm not recommending it but we did it.

Edelbrock actually changed a lot. Valve location, port size, port shape, outer casting appearance, to list a few. SM pretty much just copied Edelbrock.

100% agree, we lack good intakes, with port they aren't bad but people are too cheap to port. They like buying cnc ported heads then bolting on an intake to choke the heads, lol.

That odds of you being able to run straight pump gas all the time and not knock the rod bearing out are slim. You'll need to spike it with race gas to be safe.
