We're not really trying to argue.
:D

Most of us have been through this. It's usually time that causes the problems. (memory fades, etc)

Most here are really interested in the car. For me especially if it was a 1971 Judge!

Try this link:

Judge Registry

It would be tremendous if the VIN was known. Then it would be possible to find out all the info on the car.

This EXACT same story already got hashed out on here , about a year or two ago.
Screen name was different then.

Believe it was posted in the Lobby the first time around.

iirc - it was determined to be an Atoll Blue 70 model via sample pictures posted by other members.
Like a police line-up. lol

Unknown if car was actually a Judge (no window sticker at purchase)
Unknown engine parameters (could not verify any engine particulars)

In the end - it was an Atoll Blue Vert at minimum -
had Judge stripes and a wing , and RamIV and 455 ID stickers
could have been anything to start with
such as an early clone
or a real Ram3 Jvert with some overzealous use of decals

fwiw
Think there is only 1 Blue 70 RamAir IV JVert , and it is an Automatic

The car that I had was definitely no clone. It was an unaltered original 7 or 8 year old car that did not even have headers. I knew of the car in my home town back a far as 1974. It was definitely a Judge convertible with ram air IV as I remember the guy we bought it from stressed that point. As I recall I believe he said it was a 455 but again, this was 40 years ago.

The 455 SD option was in 1973 and 1974 and only in some Formulas and Trans Ams.
(and those are rare)

:)

Thanks John. As you can tell, I am not very familiar with the 455 engines. Just know that none were ever tagged with the RA IV designation......or at least am 99% sure.

Bought my 70 TA with RAIV decals . It had a incorrect engine but correct intake and carb for RAIII. The PHS has shown it was originally a RAIII. They are only decals.

Hmmm....

Mach IV with the tunnel port heads.
On a 455 I guess.

Didn't someone on PY own one of the Judges in Two Lane Black Top movie?

Baron Von Zeppelin 11-10-2018 11:31 PM

Yep
2 Lane movie was a real RamIV Automatic OO Judge
We have the Invoice and Buildsheet for that car on file.

Don't know who owns it now

orejudge 11-11-2018 12:04 PM

Do you have copies for both Judges in the movie?

Isn't one of the numbers floating around for 1970 RAIV Judge ragtops 17?

I bet the OP had this car, remembers it being a 455 but was really a 400 (not the first time someone was mistaken 40 years later), and found the production number somewhere online.

johnta1 11-13-2018 03:29 PM

There are 18 convertible Judges with RA IV (or possibly 19 by some people)

12 being 4 speed convertibles.

:)

Diego 11-13-2018 03:36 PM

I don't think the convertible numbers are completely known. What's completely known is how many RAIV cars were built in total, which is 398 or so, from the top of my head.

There also is info floating around with automatics outproducing sticks, but I don't believe that.

No.
Just the one.
Some threads on here about the movie/car.
Think Hoog was leading the chase for a while.
2LBT was a popular term for stuff about those cars if you want to search it.
There is some info on Car #2

Thanks man.
That sounds like maybe the same owner still has it.

17 has gotten to be a very popular number on some certain known factoids, i think its coincidental popularity is all used up.
Time for a newer number - imho
