I'm late to the thread - been out of town for Speedweek at Bonneville. Is the car a RAIV? The hood says so, but I didn't see it on the PHS? Nice car either way.

Brewster 08-19-2020 07:19 AM

Negative on the RAIV it is just a standard III car with auto on the tree.
The second owner placed those decals on the hood back in early 70's thus there staying (for now). Thanks

Nose and valance are a pain in the ass. Hell those f-bodies are easy compared.

You can get a nice tight fit installing it while the car's up on axle stands. Seems to flex the frame enough that when lowered back down, it pulls it in.

Those side pipes were big in the Mid 70’s...remember them well

Cool car! Must have been the in thing to install RA IV stickers on RA 3 cars cause the previous owner did that on mine.

Yep. Had a friend from high school put Boss 351 decals on his ‘71 Mach 1. It was a 351C, but definitely not a Boss. 😆

You can throw a cat through some of the gaps but shes a driver. Got up to 55 mph today which is her first in 43 years.
Got an exhaust leak on passenger side manifold. Will try to replace gasket this week.

Its the 428 that has been in the car since second owner. She is starting to open up a little more and more with each mile.

SD455DJ 09-01-2020 07:06 AM

Been following your Judge journey Brian and that car is so cool. I didn't know it had a 428...very appropriate for a '69! Does it have the RA manifolds on it still?

Sorry, works been crazy busy.
The original motor was blown by the 2nd owner on Broadway Street in Green Bay back in 1972. The owner found this 15k mile 428 out of a totaled 69 Grand Prix and its been in the car ever since. Unfortunately the original motor was put on the outside of the shop and shortly later disappeared. I continue to search but no luck as of yet.
The motor is a YH Code with #46 Heads 360 HP.

I have the correct YZ Block (thanks to another forum member) 48 Heads, Intake, Carb, Distributor, Water Pump and Housing, Oil Pan and Oil Drippers... Just havent gotten it built yet. Was hoping to use the 428 for a bit to show the car more like as is found. All items are date code for a late June built car.

Napa68, Im located over by Crivitz Wisconsin just south of Iron Mountain Mich about a half hour.

Thanks, for the nice comments. It's great to see the car to come back together for sure. Sure drank allot of beer though playing with that nose ;) ugh.

Terry hope to see you this month for some drinks and a meal. Cheers

So I took her to town today which is 6 miles. Filled her up with gas and drove to the previous owners house for a surprise. He was sitting outside on his porch wondering what is that sound . It was picture perfect less his better half was out shopping. Here is a picture of him and his brother-in-law taking her for a cruise for the first time in 43 years. Their smiles returning said it all to me however I was not ready to capture the moment.
After hanging out for a beer I returned home only to get halfway and find my wife and son on my ass. So funny since they had no idea I was taken her out let alone so far away from home. Awesome day!
Plan on bringing the car back this weekend so Mike car take his better half for a ride from the past.
Its all about sharing these car and or moments. Enjoy them while you can guys. Cheers

Thats pretty cool!

I wish I could do that with the 71 I'm working on. Been off the road since 83, but the original owner lives 2000 miles away. But I have been keeping in touch with him.

Great Stuff Brewster, how loud are those side pipes?
