"dang Cliff your ride is quick on the take off!"

Thanks! You've got leave hard with a heavy car and an engine that isn't making all that much power! That video is with the old engine at 514hp/587tq, in full street trim on DOT's. The new engine is quite a bit stronger, and at least half a second quicker, but just as "docile", 13.5" vacuum at idle at 750rpm's......Cliff

David Holmberg 11-26-2009 10:16 PM

Cliff = Showoff... ;)

That was a close race!

Cliff R 11-26-2009 10:32 PM

David, it's taken me almost two decades to get that car to run that quick, I need to show it off some!

Also, it is a "daily driven" car, not a "race" car with mufflers. I obtain that performance with a smooth idle, quiet mufflers, low octane pump fuel, not much gear or converter, and it's dead solid reliable in all areas.

Easy at this point in my learning curve to run that quick (or quicker) with a "race" car set up and MIG weld a couple of straght thru mufflers on it. I'm focusing on having a very "mild" set-up, that I can start and drive anywhere, anytime, and still run that quick at the track.....Cliff

PS: yep, it was a close race, I've been to the finals a few times, but just haven't managed to win that race.....yet....

Scott M Andy is still racing it. Don't have any pics of it. Thanks Rusty

David Holmberg 11-26-2009 11:13 PM

Cliff I agree, it's much better with a quiet street car.

Tell him I said "hi" and that I still have the Herslow and Morlock IV heads.

Also, tell him I need to come pick up my 5C head that he used to weld up my Kinsler injector. I think he's had it for about 14 years now....

:D

I love all these cars. However, this gets my vote for best photo to pin on the wall. Simply beauty-muss

Cliff R 11-27-2009 08:06 AM

David, nice 10.99 run, and slipping a bit on the launch as well!

My car is getting a roll cage this Winter, so we can turn things up some for next season.....Cliff
