eBay sightings
I watch eBay a lot and it seems pointless to start new threads when things pop up. These two are worthy:
1969 Firebird convert 4-speed. I have a Palladium silver 350HO convert 4-speed car and I would be hard pressed to finish it for less than the $18K reserve. This car seems to be a very good deal IMO. http://www.ebay.com/itm/171338053084...;3AMEBIDX%3AIT 69 T/A real deal 4 speed car http://www.ebay.com/itm/261489402742...%3AMEBIDX%3AIT $65K is a lot of money, but IMO this car is worth it. A real 4-speed car in this shape is very hard to find. |

69 T/A convertible clone.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/1969-Pontiac...p2056016.l4276 $35K BIN. Front fender gaps are wrong. I like the gray stripes, but they're wrong... even for a clone. I like the wheels (usually I don't), but rally II's would look better. No pics of the interior. No way this car is worth $35K IMO, but it is a nice car. I assume the hood is fiberglass due to the pins... never was one much for hood pins. |
VIN - 223679U603512
'6' would make it a 6 cylinder Bird originally. :) |
Probably the ugliest hood in the history of 69 Firebirds, I sort of feel sorry for this guy. Everything about this car has been done wrong, and probably for a lot of money. The interior is awful, the exhaust is cartoon and the body mods all make it worth less. My guess is $14K on a good day.

Kill it with fire.

69 Firebird auto covert with a $10K reserve. Well worth $10K, so it may go for much less than it's worth; I like the story too.

69 Firebird convert T/A clone. Supposed to be frame off and has all new metal. 4-speed 350 car... worth the $22K IMO.

67 Firebird 400 convertible with a 3 speed stick starting at $5K.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Pontiac-Fire...US_Cars_Trucks |
69 Firebird 350HO hard top auto with the correct XC engine. No reserve and currently at $3050. Interesting that it has the chome valve covers and air cleaner. I'm not sure about this, but I think the 350HO came with painted valve covers and a black lid for the air cleaner from the factory. Carousel red with parchment interior and painted white top is something you see everyday.

68 leather interior convert Firebird. Granted there's a lot of work to do, but it's one rare beast. $3900 with no reserve.

The steering wheel is part of the trans am package but you are correct about the console and wheels. Also only deluxe interior cars received a trunk mat but anyway you slice it,it's a nice car.

69 T/A convertible clone at no reserve. Looks like an awesome car.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Pontiac-Tran...US_Cars_Trucks |
You may have missed this one, as it only seems to come up with a "69 Firebird" search and not in the collector cars. With a $5289 MSRP and leather interior, it's loaded. Currently at $8100 with the reserve off. An ADV.ASSN.COL car, I assume it was built to showcase the options for potential buyers.

She's a beauty...
http://www.ebay.com/itm/1967-Pontiac...p2056016.l4276 A few things wrong with this 67 Firebird, but a lot of it is right. |
I liked all the options on the 6/27 69, but not the original colors.

Usually this is on the Invoice in 2 lines OPT LOC_________ADV. ASSN. COL It all goes together Optional Local Advertising Association Collections Really has nothing to do with the car itself. When dealers elected to be a part of an advertising pool in their area with other PMD dealers - they were charged a set amount per vehicle sold. Some areas were $5 per car , some $10 , some $15 - just depended on the area and amount/cost of advertising. Whether it was a no-option Tempest, or loaded Bonne Vert, same fee per car. Not all dealers were on these programs. |

Its all about an advertising pool - being identified on TV , newspapers , magazines I can't view pics on eBay - can you post that Invoice ? To hit on what you're driving at a little , Dealers had to PAY for any car invoiced to them. Back in these days - PMD didn't build hard loads and require them to buy one for display. Dealers selected their own builds / inventory - or ordered pre-builds from Zone Stock Inventory. Zone Inventory cars were usually lower to moderate option content. What you are thinking of perhaps - are PMD Brass hat cars, and PMD Display/Marketing/Advertising cars. There is a different method all together to identify these on their Invoices and Build Sheets. Those particular cars - when sold to/through a dealer - would be exempt from the Advertising Collections - due to them being "lightly used" cars. Your guesswork is understandable, but incorrect. Don't let that deter you from keeping this thread alive with more neat finds. You weed out some pretty desirable and interesting cars / projects. :) |

This is a real 69 350HO AC 4-speed posi convertible:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/331276757817...TQ:MOTORS:1123 I pinged the guy and he sent me the PHS docs. He said the motor was rebuilt and has $15K in it. I have two of these so I won't even ask my wife if I can buy it. At $7K it's an absolute steal. Not sure of the colors. The PHS docs he sent me were low resolution and I can't tell, but it has an MSRP of $4316. |
ETA It's a Midnight green car with a white INT and White top.

This 69 looks like a good deal with no reserve.

Here's a 69 Firebird no reserve auction. A black/black car with a stick. My guess is $13K.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Pontiac-Fire...US_Cars_Trucks |
This is interesting... a supposed 69 350HO with a no reserve $1000 bid. The parts alone are worth three times that.

This is a good deal for a 69 convert. It has Edelbrock heads and most of the mechanicals done. Starting out at $8K no reserve... should hit it IMO. |
that appears to be a smoking deal
|
There has to be $8K in just the drivetrain. Poker aint free and those E heads and short block are not cheap. I have two 69 converts and I would love to have the quarters that this car has. The hood tach is Mickey, there's a lot of new parts that would come with it, and if I wasn't married I'd bid on it... but I'm not going to. This is a eBay thing that doesn't come up too often. One could make some money on this car.

Another 69 convert with no reserve sitting at $7K.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Pontiac-Fire...US_Cars_Trucks It's a CA car but has some rust. A plane Jane 350 auto car, one could make this one any color combo they wanted. It'll probably sell for $8K and change. |
67 convertible in Texas. No reserve and sitting at $100. It has to be worth something for its parts.
