23 North Main Street Attica OH 44807 419-912-4028 dornans@ymail.com I got a flat on my sprint car/go kart look alike last year, and had it repaired at the tire shop at Norwalk. I got to talk to one of the guys that runs the tire shop and parts store. https://i.ibb.co/cXM8gQW/go-cart.png Turns out he lives in Attica Ohio, home of Attica Raceway Park. Same dirt track my wife and I go to watch sprint car racing frequently. Because he liked the sprint car/go kart we had a conversation, he told me they also have the golf cart rentals at Norwalk, they're a EZ Go dealership. I believe his name is Sean. Unless the track has changed vendors, I believe you can get in contact with them at the info I posted. |

Ex: best western is around 100 Wednesday night and jumps to over 200 Thursday-Saturday. Just camp at the track is what I do |
Staying in Elyria…..
Rates weren’t too bad |
If you stay 30 minutes from Cedar Point, or Norwalk it gets you out of the high rent district. I've stayed in Elyria, Clyde, Willard, and Medina, and stayed a lot cheaper. When I was doing road service, I've stayed in some of the nicest motels in the area for $25 a night, during the winter.
It is true, it's much cheaper to stay at the track, and I've probably stayed at both 50/50 over the years. One problem is the campgrounds sell out, and they put the overflow in the parking lot behind the campground, no shade. |

Planning to be there… my 1st time going … cant wait!!!
|
@Mook, I went for the first time last year and fully realized that I should have been making it a priority since I first heard about it in HPP in the 90's!!
I've never seen so many tri-power setups at a swap! Tons of great cars, parts, racing and even a car corral. The famous ice cream is very nice too and a ridiculous bang for the buck! |
Been going since 2005
Only missed 3 years 2006 Family thing 2012 Back was messed up 2020 no event do to Covid Best race/show/swap meet their is for Pontiacs |
I've been going since 1996, and have only not went in 2020, due to covid.
If you're a real Pontiac guy, you have to attend. |

Swap spaces at Ames Nationasl this year
5 Attachment(s)
Is there anyone with a swap space or preferably 2 that is not going this year? I recently purchased an estate with a massive collection of Pontiac parts and am in need of a swap meet space or spaces. The swap area is already sold out and there is a waiting list for next year as well. I'd pay for your space or spaces if you aren't going to use them. I have spoken to the event promoter and they said thats fine they just need to know in advance. Contact me at kanemorrow@hotmail.com or 660-631-1100.

Is the Norwalk car show judged or just popular vote?
|
There are Judges.

Shot in the dark. Looking for a young man in swap meet last year,2021 selling lots of 2nd gen Firebird parts. He lived close and got into trouble with his town over how many Firebirds he had. Anyone know him? It's a long shot but thought I'd try. I need complete nose for a 74.

Same deal at Bonneville, I was a couple of days early at the town close by, $35 each night. During Bonneville Speed Week it was $135 each night and this was in 2001. Nothing Changes. Hope everyone has a great time. Tom V. |
Anyone need a Motorhome parking spot? I can’t make it this year. It has electricity hook up and halfway down the track on camping, vending side. Message me if interested. Thanks Imran

Pontiac 2+2's @ Norwalk - need vehicle count
2=2 Registry member & former POCI President Steve Peluso is arranging a dedicated parking area for Pontiac 2+2's at the upcoming Nationals at Summit Motorsports Park, Norwalk, OH, on Friday-Sunday August 12-14.
Steve needs a car count ahead of the event, so the promoters can set aside enough car spaces. Please call or text Steve directly at 508-478-8900 ASAP. The more cars that show up, the better our chances of making this an annual get together. If you've never been to the Norwalk show, you are missing out on the best all-Pontiac event of the year - huge parts swap meet, car show, and the best Pontiac drag racing on the planet, all in one place. Hope to see you there! |

Last year I talked to track workers. They said hard time competing with Cedar Point for workers . Bill Bader was directing traffic ,in middle of road, in rain getting cars into Linders Lot. You just pulled in and got number later. Bobbie Bader was passing out numbers in the rain.

Hope to see some of you there. I'm bringing two '65 Tri-Powers to sell. They are restored and ready to bolt on. Each one has a spec sheet showing the jet sizes, idle circuit details, etc. After all, it's the Ames Tri-Power Nationals!!
I'm looking for a positive battery cable for a '68 400 Firebird. Must be spring ring OEM style. Will be around Tim Benko's vend spot. |
am surprised there are not more posts here. Norwalk went well this year. Weather very decent and lots of people to meet with , lots of cool Pontiacs to admire and all those parts. I bought a set of 1974 GTO door panels so I went home with something. I really enjoyed myself and got to meet and chat with so many, delivered plenty of parts already paid for. I actually had to turn down some orders because I was full. Pulled my load this year with my '78 Y88 5 speed TA and it is doing well.
Great memories to last a lifetime. I took many pics, will be posting them on the Pontiac Heaven facebook page. |

I am surprised also, that there are not mor posts about this event. It is, by far the largest Pontiac event in the world. Whether you like the car show, swap meet, or drag racing, there is something for you. I've gone with my wife to the past three Ames Tri-Power Nationals. Surprisingly, she likes the drag racing the best. Of the hundreds of swap spaces, this event is the best, by far, for you to find Pontiac parts you're looking for. There are no vendors selling non-auto-related junk like so many swap events.
The show car field is fantastic! Every imaginable Pontiac model can be found, with many of them absolutely pristine examples. There is also a section for Pontiacs for sale. This year, there were at least 20 cars for sale on display. The drag racing is for any model Pontiac, to four-cylinder Tempests to 1000 HP+ drag cars. And, don't forget the multiple food stands, shood trucks, and the ONE POUND ICE CREAM for $1.00. W thoroughly enjoyed the event and hope to see many more. |
Lots of pictures on FB Pontiac Nationals group.
|
I went with two others - this was my second year in a row. Thoroughly enjoyed myself and as nice as the weather was last year, this year was better! And ate 2 pounds of ice cream!!
|
Anyone know next year's date?
|
All times are GMT -4. The time now is 04:19 AM. |
