Radio/Stereo Question '70 GP
The original owner cut out the radio face for a later cassette deck. What do I need to revert this back to original?
Is the original radio surround reproduced? |
Attach a picture of what the radio face looks like now so readers have an idea of what needs to be done. Just so you know the 69/70 GP used a unique radio receiver when compared to other models (e.g. A-body). Not sure of the 71/72 models.

I have a 72 GP radio facia thats a nice original
and a few radios .... am not working am working am fm not working am fm stereo working for consideration ..... scott68gto@comcast.net Scott is your metal around the knob holes all trashed ? |
I'll try to get some shots this weekend to see what all I need.

If the metal is trashed it can be repaired by a competent welder. My dash was cut poorly I might add for a CD player and AMD fixed it flawlessly with a patch from Franks Pontiac Parts. If it’s just the plastic shouldn’t be too hard to find. If you are willing to spend the money and have a smart phone with music or Pandora on it then a conversion from turnswitch.com can’t be beat

or you could also get the redi-rad - made by a Pontiac affection-ado who i believe posts here.

Dashes in GP are plastic framed so therefore tricky to splice in area that was cut. Can be done with epoxy though. Get section from donor dash and trim and glue in place
