Convertible Vs. Coupe Seat Belt Guides

I know the convertibles had the slot in them to make it easier to get the belt in and out, but is there any downside to the convertible ones?

The install is easier. Why not just replace a conv. guide with a coupe guide?

Are there any negatives besides not looking 100% original?

We are going to be making these and are debating to just do the slotted ones.

Previous owner of my 2002 TA installed the convertible guides on my seats. I'm having the problem of the seat belt slipping out of the slot every time I put my belt on, passenger side is the same way.
I'm going to replace the guides with the correct ones for a coupe.

Installing the convertible ones are much easier, just a couple of torx screws and your done!
If you won't mind repeatedly putting the belt back in the slot then go for the convertible ones.

Good feedback. I heard this before.

Any other problems?

I have a convertible and if the belt stays in the guide the belt won't automatically retract, bad angle. I have the seat all the way back and leaned back too, (6'2 235 lbs).

With the closed guide I can't take it out to keep it retracted.

My 95 Firehawk convertible doesn't have guides. No signs that it ever did. Seat code AG9 European style bucket seats.
