Just picked up a new project and the gas tank is swiss cheese. Would a chevy gas tank interchange ?

I want to install a tanks inc. tank.

Hollander's Manual doesn't show any interchange for '53-54 Pontiac tank.

Thanks. I just ordered the chevy tank to try. Ill upload pictures if it works out. Getting ready to rewire car for 12volts & putting ford econline straight axle in front.

I think the filler neck will need to be repositioned to make the Chevy tank work. If the tank in my 1950 silver Streak is bad I will get one from this company. There are four different ones with the filler neck location being the only difference.

Thanks for the link. Just like you stated the chevy tank neck is father back than the pontiac or buick b style tanks. Thanks again for the info.

I had heard that a 54 Buick tank will work.

Did you get a tank yet?

HO 67 BIRD 02-04-2018 07:10 PM

I ordered the chevy tank. Been gathering other parts for the car waiting on some warmer weather. I think I will be able to fabricate a new neck to clear the frame rail if needed. Can't wait for spring to get here.
