I saw a '64 GTO Convertible for Sale

If anyone is interested, I drove by and saw this for sale yesterday in 92024.

4 speed, tripower, and a console-mounted vaccuum gauge which is really cool.

The color with the white ragtop is a nice look.

Hate it when their ad doesn’t say how much they want for it.

I figured if I have to ask, I can’t afford it

very nice

$49K.

I just went by, stopped, and talked to the salesman. $49K and it's negotiable.

He didn't know the back story on the car.

I checked it out, and it is better than I thought. It is a very recent restoration. Really nice...

You'd be hard-pressed to find a nicer looking color combo on that car, as well. It's a stunner for sure!

I was really shocked to see a '64 4-speed, tri-power car in such good condition. I wish someone on this forum would buy it.

Tilt column, wood wheel, factory tach, mint one-year original dash pad.....this car is a 'keeper' for sure!

Beautiful car. Seeing it and this thread for the first time. If I develop a stronger interest in it, I'm wondering if any members close by would take a real good look at it for me?? I ceratinly would pay for your time. I'm in NY and I'm not going to fly to CA, at least not at this time. Also, did I read the asking price was 49k but negotiable?? I wonder to what?? Thank you, Carmine.

Carmine,

I was the original poster, and was / is located about a mile from me.

I will try to phone later today and see if it is still for sale. I didn't see it outside on their lot recently, but it was still on their website. Maybe limited space.

From my memory, I looked really good. The interior was brand new and covered in plastic film for protection... It was an original tri-power, 4-speed, etc...

For the price, I thought it was a great value. I would expect them to sell for much higher around here. I'll let you know.

Carmine,

I phoned and it is still for sale. It isn't an original tri-power car, it was a 4-barrel car. The price is actually $52k, not $49k. It was owned by a collector in Santa Barbara. They have the PHS for it and I can arrange a viewing. The car is at their private storage warehouse and would need to be brought to their sales lot for viewing.

Tom is the owner of the dealership. 760-632-5555.

Let me know...

I responded to your message earlier and possibly it didn't go out, so I'll try it again. Wanted to thank you for your effort, but I'm going to pass on that car for now. I've been researching and looking at a few '66 GTO convertibles. It's a must to have factory tripower and 4 speed. Haven't made any decision yet and I keep looking. When I saw your thread, I took a look at that car also. Certainly got my attention. Beautiful car but just not for me, Carmine.

For that money the top should fit much better.

I noticed that too. It should be a little more taunt IMO.

Notice the parking brake pedal pad; he’s the only person I’ve seen besides myself who used a chrome trimmed pad off of a 1965 full-size Pontiac. It makes for a nice look, IMHO.

I'd just leave it down all the time.
