Power Top

I see this listed as optional only on Tempest,
so can I assume it was standard on Lemans &/or GTO.
Literature isn't very clear.
Thx.

That is what I've understood from both literature and cars that I have owned/known

That's a large top and I couldn't imagine raising or lowering it by hand.

Jeff , My 66 Tempest Custom conv't has a manual top . My 66 GTO conv't has a power top . Don

Thanks Guy's I found the answer. (see Below)

The Tempest Series with the manual top was/is actually are well balanced and with the spring system utilized very easily lifted/lower when in proper working order.

I had a '66 Tempest Sprint that was a manual top and the only bad thing was having to get out to lift/lower it.

I was just wondering if the power top was standard on the GTO & Lemans.
When I was looking through some of my sales lit in some cases it wasn't clearly shown/listed as "STANDARD" like the Bucket seats and such.

But further digging and I found it was.

Thanks for the info . Don

As an aside, the manual top convertibles use a different interior side panel than the tops with power. And yes, the manual top is much easier to lift than a power top that has the rams disoconnected.
