Summit

Summit eliminating their tech support totally and their order support on the weekend is really a serious drop in the level of service I have come to expect from them. The wait times on the phone are terrible too. I guess Amazon has put a hurtin on them????

Do you a link to this information? I just checked their website and didn't find anything that says tech support is going away. They do caution that there may be delays due to the COVID-19 situation.

Try the Tech Support number and listen to the message

The weekend service has been gone for a long time but now it’s totally gone!

Uh..... There is a pandemic going on out there, the world is in total chaos, just turn on the news or look out the window.

Call the old tech support number and listen to the message. Also the support by Text is a joke. Sent the text message at lunch got texted back at almost 9 at night

I have had no luck getting through by calling or email, chat has been down. I made an order from JEGS yesterday and have still not got an email confirmation nor does the order show up in my account. They are all having a tough time for sure. It will pass soon enough.

No it’s not anything to do with the “pandemic”. I talked to the returns department at Summit finally and they said there had been some cost cutting. No more weekend customer service beyond straight orders and no more tech support PERIOD.

64speed 05-20-2020 12:18 PM

Their text chat support is a joke now too. I asked about a crossmember part number just to be sure. Was told it would not work. Read the reviews and FIVE of them were using them in 64-66 Pontiacs. You just have to eliminate the rubber mounts and bolt them down solid but they tech just could not understand this concept.

It just so happens that the two counties in Ohio where Summit and Jegs are located are the worst hot spots in the state for the Covid 19 virus. They have many deaths and hospitalizations in both of them. Ohio has 88 counties and those two are both in the top 5. Give them a couple more months and see if the service level returns to normal.

Exactly, things are starting to open up but it’s been no picnic here. I’m surprised they were allowed to stay open at all. Once the state opens up fully in the next few weeks they will start to bring more workers back.

Well Summits tech support continues to be a joke compared to its former self. If you don’t know your part numbers or you need any kind of guidance you are better off just calling the manufacturers tech line.

Well I've noticed that the service/help infra structure is kinda giving you the 'run around' instead of having straight links to actual help.

Really anoying if you just want to ask a question via email.

I can relate to the pandemic situation so I don't expect immediate answers.
But putting everybody through a digital maze , doesn't seem necessaire.

Unless you're trying to cut on servicecosts.

Well summits lack of tech support or even sales support for that matter lost them a sale this weekend.I haven’t bought anything from Jegs in years but I found the exhaust kit I mentioned in the street section while doing a google search but I had some questions. I called summit and no one could help me. I was gonna get my question answered then get them to price match and buy from them. I called Jegs and they were Johnny on the spot so they got the sale. I really hate that because summit used to be top notch and my go to.
