3 Attachment(s)
Hey Poncho heads! Thought you'd enjoy results from the Dyno today. Some details. 535 MR1A, 400cfm Hi-Ports, Ported Marcella Victor, 1250 Dominator, 14.8:1 Compression, 283/300 @ .050 50mm Cam w/ .823 lift. This is a bracket combo that was built to run 2-3 seasons with minimal maintenance. Hats off to Bill Meyer, Jax Engines and KRE for all the help.

Looks awesome, Aaron!

Should run alky injection and get over 1000 HP!

:)

Good job!

Outstanding Aaron and crew

I know everyone is ass patting but I'm the devil's advocate... those numbers seem low for that combo in my opinion.... 14.8-1...that's packed fairly tight

Dragncar 08-13-2019 02:01 AM

Heads ? are they KRE CNC 400cfm High Ports ?
I heard that head is just sorta tall and narrow. Know a guy who had a set and sent them out for further port work by one of our guys here and really picked up.
A really good head should get that on pump gas. Not that I have ever made it but its in the works.
But its a bracket engine and if its makes that power and lasts without a bunch of maintenance its a win I say.

I gotta get to know and talk to more guys. Your list is increasingly impressive.
(Ball-busting)

Sounds like a killer combo to me. Now get it installed and beat on it, let’s see what it does at the track!

He can talk to me and I will tell him the same
... it looks low on power for the combo..

Almost 900 bracket racing hp......pretty good!

That's nice.

aaronman 08-13-2019 11:33 AM

Thanks guys. I'd like to add that this build is a platform for future improvements. IM me if you want more detail or have recommendations to make more hp reliably.

mysticmissle 08-13-2019 12:00 PM

did you have a chance to baseline the BOP?

That's a nice piece. There's nothing wrong with a 890hp bracket engine. Any "expert" that posts something negative should bring out their bullet and line it up. But then the reality is they don't have anything that nice.

That’s a good low rpm bracket race combination

johnta1 08-13-2019 05:29 PM

1.64 HP per CID is pretty decent amount of HP for a lowly bracket engine.
His race car's engine is 955 HP!

This will be another killer combo for bracket racing.
As if he needs that!

:D

Will this go in a dragster or the car?

:)

slowbird 08-13-2019 07:18 PM

So what is the difference between the 950hp race engine and this 890 bracket engine?

I never said anything was wrong with an 890 bracket engine... all I said was the numbers seemed low for the combo of parts... dont get so butthurt snowflake...
As far as bringing my bullet and lining up, i could show up with a honda and put it on the trailer....its a bracket car.

Bill Meyer 08-13-2019 08:01 PM

950 hp is with 430cfm heads, 890 is with 400 cfm heads. Math works out pretty good......

Congrats Aaron, any additional work to the Victor?

Should be a very low maintenance engine!
