Service Engine Oil Reset

Hello to all my fellow GTO owners. I am new to the site and an very impressed by the available infomation. I have an '06 GTO which I recently conducted a DYI Oil Change. At the time of the Oil Change, I did not reset the Engine Oil life System. Yesterday I received a Message which read " Service Engine Oil " I then looked in the owners manuel and found the instructions on how to reset in Section (page) 5-17. I have tried several times following the directions given without being able to reset. Please Help!! Thanking everyone in advance.:)

It says, pump the pedal 2 times in the instructions but you need to pump the pedal 3 times. There is a misprint in the manual.

Thank You!

Thank You so much. It's amazing that once again GM makes an error and makes no effort to correct it!!:clap2:

Thanx again!!

Just wanted to drop a note and Thank my fellow GTO owners, especially Sirrotica. With his instructions I was able to clear the Service Engine Oil light.

And to Humbler, I know that you said that you were kidding when you stated that the owners manuel had a mistake due to translation, But I just wonder what other numbers are wrong, makes you think!!! BTW I am located in Sunny Apopka, Florida;)

P.S. Humbler, sorry I took so long to answer your question on my location, I took a trip to NYC and just got in last night....Boy was it COLD there...
