What's This Bracket

I think it's a center rear bumper bracket .... seems like there should be two of them if it is, I have only one at the moment, seems like I remember two ... who knows.

Thanks folks.

You may or may not need shims with that bracket when setting the rear bumper gaps. And that depends how the body sits on the frame (front to rear)

For the present all the body mount bolts are loose and probably will be till the fenders and front bumper are on. There will probably be a of whole lot of prying going on. That would make a good song "Whole Lot of Prying Going On" :)

69gtocv ... if it really bothers you, that bracket would be very easy to modify to take off some length and probably be indistinguishable from OEM.
|
Nah, it doesn't bother me that bad. Do you think the gap is too large from my pictures thread too? I mean if I were going for a perfect 10 restoration, then maybe I'd consider making it better. Dennis (gto4evr) told me those rear rails are pretty easy to "flex" in, especially if they are somewhat rotten. Mine is really solid.

I sure didn't notice it, but there is always a lot that escapes my notice :)
|
Which is why I mentioned how the body sits on the frame. Originally I had a single shim. After the body off frame work I didn't need a shim and probably could have moved the body forward another 1/4" or so to get the bumper gap closer. But we'll see after I mount the core support and front fenders
