Post a part you would like to see reproduced here! Put 1 part per "response" so we have room to edit the posting with our answer. Also, check to see if the part is already listed before you list it again. If you want to start a topic in the proper "tech" board on reproductions, that is fine.

If you really feel a part is needed by many, test your idea by organizing a 'group buy' in the appropriate 'parts-for sale' forum. PY will be glad to participate by calculating a price and reproducing the part once it has shown a 'reasonable' amount of interest and commitment.

I'd like to see a quality repo '64 GTO hood.

response....
It took the hobby 20 years to produce the 1st Pontiac hood (67-69 FB 400). 68-70 GTO is next. I doubt if we will ever see a 1 year only hood.

A '66 GTO tail light panel (vertical rear of trunk). Finally found one, used, in decent shape and got it for a steal ($350.00). Doesn't seem to be much harder to make than the rear window to trunk piece that PY caries for $80.00. Generally if the bottom of the rear window rusted out, so did the seam between the tail light panel and the trunk floor.

Response...
This project has been attempted several times. The 67 tailpanel will happen 1st. Then we might see the 66.

'67 GTO Grille Mesh or Grille Screens whatever you want to call them They are anodized and are difficult to polish because of all the crimps and recesses.
C'mon Chris, you can do it !

response...
This project has been looked at several times with no luck. Costs would make this item a $300-500 a pair retail item!

How many commitments for orders would it take to get a plant to crank out windshields for 1963 Tempests at a decent price? I understand that a new one can run between $500 to $700. There is a possibility that this could be co-ordinated with the 63 Buick Skylark/Olds Cutlass owners through car club connections, etc.

response....
That is a question for OEM Glass. I think production run would have to exceed 1000 to be feasible.

PONTIAC DUDE 01-19-2000 11:17 AM

66 GTO frt fenders?

response;

Probably not going to happen. The 68-69 repro fenders didn't even come close to sales expectations... probably killing it for other GTO fenders.

'66-67 headlight bezels.

response;
This project has been attempted. $30,000 for tooling for LH only! Looks like owners will continued to get theirs rechromed. Buy the RH while you can still get it for reasonable.

The formula steering wheel is needed now; should be reproduced in several original colors such as saddle, buckskin, blue, black and red. Black spoke and gold ones too.
Bill Boyle

response:
Black on Black is available now! PY has some Gold and black spoked wheels getting done in Black, Saddle, Blue and Red. That's it for now.

edpete 01-20-2000 10:50 PM

I agree with Todd, the 73-77 A-bodies are largely ignored. So I'd start with wheel well moldings.

edpete 01-20-2000 10:53 PM

Next I'd like to see Bumber rub strips and interior kits too.

Bob Kazian 01-23-2000 08:06 PM

'65-'67 "GTO" Lucite that goes behind the Dash Grab Bars.
If the lucite itself is nice, it gets damaged taking it off to swap to a nice chrome bezel.

Response;
Bob, another good one, but used ones seem to keep turning up. Technology to make this is available, as it is same type as the sport wheel center insert and the 'pmd' insert for rally II wheels. But look at the price for those little pieces! $35.00 That would make the grab bar well over the price of an excellent used one... One of the key factors in making a repro... it's gotta be cheaper than what's comparably available.

edpete 01-30-2000 01:18 PM

I would also like to see repro. rubber floor mats(in colors)for all the 73-81 A and F bodies.Maybe even with the "GM" logo...

Scott Misus 01-30-2000 02:44 PM

Quarter panel skins for '61-'62 and for '63-'64 full size cars.

'63 Catalina belt molding for two doors; all 6 pieces.

'69 Bird fenders/inner wells.

Firewall block off plates for heater delete 61-64 full size cars.

Radio delete plates for '59-'64 full size cars.

Backup light delete kits for '59-'64 full size cars.

That's all.

I would like to see 69 gto tail lamps and 66 catalina tail lamp gaskets

response:

Sorry but 69 Tailights will probobly always be a re-chrome orig. situation. 66 Catalina gaskets might be able to get done. We would need originals for a pattern.

Would love to see deluxe door panels for a 1971 Trans Am repro'd. These are impossible to find and when you do everyone wants an arm and a leg for them.

Retractable seat belt mechanism assembly for driver's and passenger side--2nd Gen Firebird--black and gold belts would probably work with most cars.

Bill Boyle 02-11-2000 04:40 PM

Painted-style valve covers that were used during the late '50s with "Pontiac" on them. These are as rare as those fine cars. Would be nice to see more oldsters with them. I'd like to see a standard height chrome or aluminum cover with the same feature for a reasonable price.

Rick 02-12-2000 09:29 AM

How about 67-68 Firebird metal
ram air pans, upper & lower? Did
someone do a small run of one of
them a few years back?

Want original valve covers for a 69 400 GTO engine. Now that cant be so hard to do.

Put in another vote for that one!!!

I don't have your catalog yet, so I'm not sure what you currently do produce... once I get it, I'll post some other ideas.

One thing I'm looking for right now is the under-hood ram air setup for a 70-73 Formula, don't know if you carry that or not. My car has the hood, but the rest of it is missing.

64-65 GTO/Lemans tail light bezels and tail panels. They make a 64 fuel door. How about the rubber gaskets that go around the light housings. You have the one's for the lens 64-65. Dash knobs and dash face ribbed trim. ignition swich bezels They's not that much differance from the 66. Console hinges 64-67 64 interior door panel emblems. Hurst wheels somebody should be able to make them, for less then $2000.00-$3000.00 a pop used.Unless there is the lic thing holding them up from doing this.

'79 Tenth Anniversary T/A Interior Pieces!!Either entire kit, or separate pieces-especially the door panels!!!

Will we ever see the cloth hobnail seat covers for the F-body?

The deluxe Cloth interior found on late model 2nd generation TA's requires a unique and very expensive sewing process. That is why nothing so far. I do believe these interiors will someday become available.

Ok, I know that this isn't really a reproduction since they never produced them in the first place, but how about 16" or 17" Rally II wheels! You just can't get tires for 15" rims with very high speed ratings.

Sign me up for the '70-'73 F-body taillight lenses too! Also, the '71-'72 F-body deluxe door panels(weren't the '73 deluxe panels the same too?)

Here's one that every '70-'73 F-body could use: A reproduction of the plastic front valance panel used on some '72 and all '73 models, even if done in Fiberglass, would be wonderful. The plastic valance looks and fits much better than the metal ones, doesn't require special mounting brackets (which those of us with the plastic ones originally don't have) and there are NONE available anywhere at any price that aren't broken. In fact, my cracked and somewhat broken one is the best example I've ever seen...

GP-K 03-24-2000 11:01 PM

I'll have to 2nd the request for '69 '70 (& maybe '71 & '72) GP quarters, inner & outer wheel wells, and fender patch panels. Some how, though I don't think there are a whole lot of 2nd Gen GP owners out there. But, I could be wrong.

K.

First a response- KevinDush, see my posting about Big Rally II's in the Suspension section.

How about full quarter panels for 67/68 Firebirds? I know that Classic Industries has them for the Camaros and it wouldn't take much to stamp some chevron depressions and an arrowhead cutout.
Thanks,
