Sometimes it happens -
back in 1989 i was supposed to buy a 79 Silver TA/TA 4spd with a fresh 74 SD455 engine and big nitrous tank in the trunk.

(another car popped up outta nowhere that took major priority of the 79)

The white SD455 I had that was very rusty I sold to a friend. Actually he was the guy along with his partner that traded me the car. He called me last year while I was at Norwalk and made me an offer I couldnt refuse. I had the heads, block std bore, intake. I had the parts to put it together less body work. He came last night after this covid virus separation. He collects them.

Previously I always wanted to weigh a SD455 block. Last Friday I got access to a gov certified scale, the bare std bore block with all the caps and bolts, but no freeze or screw in plugs weighed 195#. When I found that SR SD455 block in 1975 and tried to lift it myself i new it was heavy. Just info. John and Rocky I have all the nos numbers for you guys.

Scroll down a bit further and click "Full Size Pictures". Lots of paperwork pics there too.

Got it and looks original too. Love to see those correct exhaust clamps...lost art todays day and age. Hope he finds it a good home.

Finally got a chance to get to the storage unit and clean up the rims and tires. Makes a big difference in the appearance.

VERY RUSTY 1974 SD455 TA on FB

Seller posted a video on Youtube.
10k original miles.
Parked since 1980.
Very nice interior except headliner.
Red/black/rust
Undercoated, so the floors and frame rails are good.
OMG it's rusty.
$35k

Poor car, basket case. Not worth the money either..

77 Canamman 06-09-2021 08:25 AM

Surprisingly the underneath is quite nice. Will need everything on the exterior and a trunk pan. Must have been near salt water seeing the trunk lid is almost entirely missing due to rot.

TimsTA 06-09-2021 06:40 PM

Parked w/ 10,000 miles? Sounds like possible engine problems.

keith k 06-09-2021 10:02 PM

Sad, but a very cool find. I like that it's a non-AC car.
Not a good time for me to take on another project, or I'd be giving it a closer sniff!

Per the phone number on the window, this comes up:
Joseph C Kelley, 59 years old, currently living in Holliston, MA

Would guess that's the original owner

No engine shots.
