Cam ID Help ?

2 Attachment(s)
A guy on another forum needs help with an ID on this cam, from his friend's 400.

Don't know why it's so small here. Was plenty big on the other forum.

The lower number looks to be 024860. The last number could be a Q I suppose. Maybe some of you guys can figure it out.

The other number MAY be EP11. Or maybe ED11 ? Can't tell for sure.

Here's a link so ya'll can click it & see a bigger pic.

Forgot you have to be a member to see the pics. Sorry.

TJ made 'em bigger. So, if you click on the pics you can see the numbers. Some are clear. But I can't make out some in the 2nd pic. Looks like it could be EP11, ED11, EPE1, EDE1, EPF1, EDF1. Or that last digit may not be a 1. May be an L. One guy on FB said it's an Edelbrock cam. I suppose that's because he thinks those letters are supposed to be EDEL. I suppose that could be. I think they only sell 2 Pontiac cams.

The 2157 looks similar to the Summit 2800. The 7157 is an 041 clone.

Looks like cam companies would somehow insure that ID numbers were readable & permanent. How tuff could that be ?

EP reminds me of the efficiency performance line of Cams that TRW had out in the 80s.
I will dig out my old catalog and report back on Wensday morning.

May have it figured out.

A guy said that 2nd digit may be an R, rather than a P or D. If so, maybe it is an Erson cam. So, I looked up the Erson Pontiac HFT cams.

Their part numbers all begin with E310. But, only one of 'em ends with 11. So, I figure that ER11 is a real good ID number for an Erson #E310011 cam. I can see that it is very possible that's what is stamped on the cam. Could be wrong.

What do ya'll think ?

Here's the TRW info from a 80s catalog.
If you have a dial caliper to can check out the lobe lift to get a better understanding of what you might have Cam wise.

Yeah, the guy was suppose to try to get it measured.

From the numbers I can read in the pics, the best guess I have is that it is an ER11. Which I assume might be the ID numbers for an Erson E310011 cam.
