77 lemans not turning over

I recently just rebuilt the front halve of my motor on my 350 olds I now know that the oil sender unit is working fine. But here's the question when I turn her over the only thing I here is the fan spinning. Have new fuel lines and sending unit in the tank when my dad and I did the tank a few years back. I've replaced the fuel lines and the only thing I don't have on the carb is the kick down for the transmission.

You can't get it running? If the fan is the original it's belt driven so the crank has to turn to get the fan/water pump to turn. Work the carb and see if it's putting gas into the engine. If it is, is it getting spark? If it has spark and fuel it's probably out of time.

Did you replace timing chain? If so it could be anything. Did you put fuel pump eccentric back together correctly? Does the car have compression?

Is the fan you hear spinning the one in/under the dash for ventilation and what you're trying to say is the starter is not even cranking over the engine?

no the starter is engaging. The heater core fan is working as well. But the previous owner took out the A.c. belt so it currently set to one of the A.c. settings. My dad and I will be taking a look at it tomorrow.

So I figured out today that yes why my started was engaging I had to loosen the bolts on it to loosen the oil pan bolts around it. Then when I did that I dropped the bolts out, and if you know that starter it's a heavy s.o.b so actually it wasn't spinning the fan it was spinning the starter. So after getting those tightened up she actually started cranking going to get the heater hose on her tomorrow and hopefully get the crank pulley leveled out but after that she be good to start
