Survivor?
Has a repaint, but looks well cared for and untouched beyond the paint.

With a repaint, it's not a survivor. Doesn't mean it's not a nice car, but truly using the wrong terminology to describe his car.
|
I think the word "survivor" has been emasculated to the point that the lay meaning is "...it still exists".
Pretty car, though, in this case. K |
Its he's not starting with stupid money. maybe better terminology would be 90% original . lol
|
It looks like it has some very nice original parts, but the engine compartment has had some detailing, it has been sprayed black underneath, and I'm betting the weatherstripping has been replaced and maybe even the door panels. Yep, 'survivor' is NOT the correct term used to describe this car.
The drivetrain is what is really killing the value. If it were a 4 speed, better yet a tri power, it would have already been gone at 45-50k in that condition. |
Honestly...
why do folks continually paint the scoops body color? Scareeems "repaint"!

You see it all the time on a repaint. It looks unfinished! And "NO", this car is not a Survivor. |

It's one of those little details that gets missed. K |
I would call this car a survivor because it's still here, and mostly original. The weatherstrip on this car looks like my original weatherstrip on my own '65 which has an original interior that looks much like this one. And there is value in a car that has not had all the floor pans and sheet metal replaced, at least to me. At a 34k 'buy it now', the price is realistic and fair. A nice solid, albeit boringly- optioned, car. I passed over many like it in the '80's because the auto was a deal killer. They were $800-$1500 all day long back then!
