So you think 71 was a one year only setup on the drivers side?

Are you looking to up your alternator output and are you trying to keep your car original looking? If your not to worried about originality, the 105 amp alternator from a 1990 corvette is 100% bolt on(except for pigtail), charges at an idle(bright headlights at an idle) and looks similar to the original.

The stationary 80 amp front mounting plate along with the idler pulley was used on '71-76 F-body's, as well as '71 Pontiac A-bodys built up into mid April of '71. In mid April '71, 80 amp equipped '71 A-body's began to be assembled with the front alt mtg plate w the adjustment slot.

Minute detal wise, the alum pivot block changed part numbers, & at least two different design stamped steel pulleys were used as idler pulleys. the latter being able to have its small bearing removed & replaced.
