70-L67/4spd (wow!)

I'm not knocking the car, this is afterall a beautiful example of the 'big dog' of 1970 Firebirds.
My question is;
Is a RAIV/4spd really a quarter of a million dollar car?

Only $2,538.00 per month. :)

Not sure why they went so heavy on the cam...

Baron Von Zeppelin 10-15-2019 07:46 PM

I think thats reflecting a reduced price because its not White with Bright Blue Deluxe Interior. Usually they'll start them out at around 285-300 with a real light weight bobber float attached above the hook.

:fish:

Those are King Fish cars right behind RamIV Judge Convertibles

I’m pretty sure that Blue cars historically bring more than white. I’d say this one is somewhat of a holy grail type car.

Would that car really appreciate that much more. I mean I love it but...

King of the hill when it comes to 2nd gen F-Bodys..

GREGGDOG 10-15-2019 09:40 PM

Always thought a 73' T/A 455 SD 4spd would be/should be the King. I guess there is a replacement for displacement...Lucerne blue?

sounds like a factory ram air 4 cam to me on a cold start.

Rare rear sway bar delete.

have you ever tried to buy a restored 70 ra4 trans am and in blue. not going to find one for sale everyday. I see unrestored white ones selling for 125k

Interesting. My '68 400(0.30 over, ported RA II heads, 12.0 compression, with long branch manifolds through 2 1/2" exhaust w/goerlich xlerators) with the melling copy of the 041 cam is quite a bit quieter on start up. But then I don't drive it enough so it may be wishful thinking on my part(I prefer a quieter idle.)

unruhjonny 10-16-2019 12:16 AM

with only 88 examples built, there's no doubt that at any given time there's very few if any to pick from.
I have understood that often blue cars do fetch a premium...

I was just surprised at the asking/starting price...

I actually thought the cam sounded tame, even at a cold start for a 041, but I'll assume others here know better than me.

I appreciate hearing thoughts on the car.

It seems to be a really nice car, there's no doubt of that.

A similar example in white brought well over $300k at auction last year
Can anyone clue me in about that car?
I don't recall hearing about that one just now.

Is it me or is the LH rear spoiler cap a '74-'78?

The no rear sway bar would bother me?
(as said above)

Looks like the tip is level with the bottom of the chrome bezel, when it should be level with the bottom of the lower lens.

The RAIV are king of the 2nd gens imo.

It's a beautiful car! I wish it had bright blue interior, but you cant be too picky when it comes to these cars.
