94 T/A LT1 opti spark issues
 

Hey I just wanted to get some more opinions on some issues I've been having with my 94 Trans Am.

I've had some ignition issues in the past with the car not turning over. And now recently, my car kept stalling while I was driving. Everything just shut off in the car, gaugues, lights, battery. Then it would struggle to start up again.

From what I could tell and have heard, it sounds like I need a new opti-spark setup?

Does that sound right?

Those are not the symptoms I have had with an Optispark on a 94 LT1. Both times I replaced mine, it developed surging while idling once the engine was at temperature.

First time the water pump failed and killed the Opti, second time just the opti died...same symptoms both times. They seem to last for about 7-8 years for me before they die on the 94.

I would look hard at your battery cables and such. Not Opti related
