69-72 GP's what size Tires you have on?
Happy New Year!
I'm looking to see what size tires you can fit on your 69-72 GP's? Running 15 X 7" Rally II's Roll them out please: Thanks Jeff |
Fronts - 15 x 7 With 245/60-15 Coopers
Rears - 15 x 8 With 295/50-15 Coopers |
Nice!

if I want the same size tire front and rear, my go to tire size is 245/60/15. I like the way they fit/look on a 7" wheel, the way they fill the wheel wells, and looking straight on from the front or rear, the width looks appropriate to the size of the car. jmo.

Anyone else have 15 X 7" Rally II's with what size tire?

235/60R15

77 Grand Prix with 15 X 7 and 24560R15 all the way around.

Is this 1985??? There are no modern tires in 245/60-15 or any usable size in 14", 15" or 16". If you are still running BFG Radial TA's, Cooper Cobras, or Kelly Charger HR's, you are 30 years behind the curve. 17" wheels will not get you a tire with enough height to fill the wheel wells.
My '70 GP has 245/45-18 front and 275/40-18 rear. Both are 26.7" tall (245/60-16 is 26.6"). The car rides, handles, and brakes like a dream. Literally, the ride is less harsh and more quiet plus the car can actually handle and brake with reasonable performance. Do yourself a favor, step up to 18" wheels and into the future with contemporary tech tires. You will not regret it. |
I'm the polar opposite ;-)... it's not 1985, it's 1969. I run G70x14 on the factory 14x7" wheels. Looks great! rides ... ok. Handles ... ok...ish. But did I mention it looks great? ;-)

Yeah new tires perform better and handle better. But cannot beat the look of the original tire. |
I have 245/60R14 under my 69 GP and love the look. I'm sure you have seen it... it's the Matador Red one on the PY Grand Prix catalog...
