Only known 70 t/a Norwood build sheet?
 

I posted this before a few years ago but pictured through lamination and it wasn’t as clear as possible. I photographed it outside lamination this time as well as the window sticker. Last 6 sequence numbers of vin are 109377- designated as- “serial number” on the document in question which is titled, “chassis broadcast copy.” There is a large stack of neat paperwork with this car including the installment plan and the plastic protecto plate. I am planning to sell this car in the next few weeks hence my post here to get a clearer idea of this document hopefully.

Well I assume that is a Norwood build sheet then. I didn’t want to list it on eBay or somewhere as such without first soliciting the opinions of the most knowledgeable 70-73 Pontiac guys in the world - which are on this forum and thread in my opinion.

I don't think I've ever seen any other '70 T/A that had that document, but I'm not sure it's the "build sheet". I think it's a separate sheet they must have used on the Chassis line only, since it doesn't include some of the typical Body related stuff that would be on a traditional build sheet. I have only seen build sheets for Van Nuys cars in '70, but I do have a Norwood build sheet from a '72 Formula, and it's the same format as the '70 Van Nuys build sheets.

if you're going to advertise the car, I'd refer to that document as the "Chassis Broadcast sheet". It's a very unique piece of documentation!

Thank you Keith. That sounds reasonable and I’ll follow that advice when I list. Is it possible within your experience and perspective that Norwood used the chassis broadcast in place of the build sheet for whatever reason? It seems mildly implausible (to me) that we don’t have evidence of any Norwood build sheets.

The selling dealer got that copy you have, and allowed the customer to have it.
It didn't come from within a hidden spot inside the car.

They (dealer) supposedly got body sheet / chassis sheet / car shipping record / and full Buildsheet copy.
Why anyone - or only very few got any or all of this stuff with their car - idunno
But it wasn't at all common practice.
Maybe some were good good buddies with the sales manager.

All of these are 1971 Norwood documents.
But i feel certain all existed for 1970 as well.
And complete Buildsheets like we see from Van Nuys cars

Your 70 Sheet is the only 70 Norwood i have ever seen.
These 71 sheets are the only 71 Norwood examples i have ever seen.

The only two 1973 Norwood Buildsheets i have seen did not come from within the car. They were furnished by the dealer to the customer. In one case, the dealer was the customer (73SD Black Primer Car).

I don't know why some 72 Norwoods had a hidden Bsheet, but no 70, 71 or 73 had them.
Too strange to do anything beyond accepting it as it is.

Appreciate that Baron! Fascinating info. Would like to talk to a 1970 Norwood plant worker who could shed light on some of the remaining questions.

All known broadcast sheets appear to be Norwood plant sheets then....which still allows the question- with no known surviving build sheets- did Norwood substitute these for build sheets?
