Any interest in Crank Pulleys for Moroso Flying Magnet wheel.
 

I'm interested in using a Magnetic p/u along w. my CVF Pulley set-up. I have the high flow crank pulley and if I use a crank trigger wheel (Mororo is 3/8" thick) it'll space the pulley out of line w/ everything else in the system (Alt/WP.Pwr Strng). Any interest in a run of these? I don't know if I can talk them into making a run or if I'll have to go to another source and have them copy my pulley and make it 3/8" shallower. Thought I'd test the waters before d(r)iving in

Good luck with your venture. I wish we had an option of a true Pontiac SFI balancer with a trigger wheel built in.

Innovators West makes the balancer with the magnets built into it.
Good luck with the pulleys, might be less expensive or quicker to have a local fabricator make you a billet one.

Good to know. I should've said "toothed wheel". But that is probably more useful to the average racer.

Back when Ace at PPR was up and running he did some dyno testing with crank trigger ignition vs distributor. He found a crank trigger was worth a solid 7 HP vs distributor.

I'm switching to fuel injection and I've noticed that my timing is all over the place....Crank trigger is rock solid.

Yes, you'll notice a great improvement in timing stability. More data points 36-1 or 60-2 toothed wheels and it gets even better.

I realize a reluctor wheel is NORMALLY part of the damper...what if I were to tig a ring mount to the pulley and reference it to TDC via a dowel or notch.

You could certainly do that. I balked at it due to modifying an SFI balancer. Maybe that's ok, or maybe no one would pay any attention to it. That's why I wish we could get one with it built that way. With Pontiac pulley pattern.
And fyi, depending on your efi system, you may not even need to worry over closely referencing number 1. Concentricity would be the primary concern.

I wouldn't chance modifying an SFi balancer either......that's why I suggested that maybe I can TIG a mount (or drill & tap) the pulley for a reluctor ring. Think It'll work O.K.? Got any suggestions for a reluctor ring? 60-2 w/ 3 mounting holes...say 1/4 bolts? My crank pulley is nearly 8" o.d so I'm thinkin' there's room to work with around the outside of the damper w/o moving all of the accessories forward. any thoughts on a p/u and mount? Will be using Holley Dominator ECU to control EFI.

Had it bored for the balancer hub, and the bolt holes for the pulley pattern drilled on an index head, all so that concentricity would be dead on. But it did alter my pulley spacing.
I "think" with that diameter, you could conceivably chuck the pulley in a lathe and turn a very slight step, then bore the toothed wheel to fit snugly(light press fit) and then tack it in 4 spots, or 8... If the pulley is steel... The wheel has to be steel to read.

My OLD ATI balancer(late 80s early 90s) takes Chevy bolt pattern . Easy enough to drill factory pulleys and RARE can drill their billet for both patterns.

I use a 60-2 Toothed wheel. I ordered one with no holes. I drilled holes in wheel to fit the bolt pattern of my Pontiac balancer. I have always ran an Aerospace Components Crank Mandrel from Tin Indian. I had a local machine shop mill the 1/8 inch thickness of the toothed wheel from the back of my mandrel. I use a Innovators West Crank Sensor Bracket and modified it to hold the smaller (in diameter) Holley EFI Pickup. I am currently running a MS3 Computer and fire my 463 using LS Coil Packs. I have noticed my Timing is Rock Solid now, compared to being timed from the distributor. My distributors only function now is to turn the oil pump.
