Just put the GTO and Grand Prix away for their winters nap. Supposed to snow on Tuesday. Won’t see them until May 1st....then it will be like a new toy again !

It would kill me to not drive my car for 6+ months. Don't you get a few warm days in NH over the winter? I'm driving mine if it's at least 30* here

With me it’s not so much the temp,but the salt and the brine they use to pretreat the roads.

This reminds me - I need to learn to work on my car in the winter and drive it in the summer. I have a tendency to forget about the car over the winter and then when I pull it out in the spring, start noticing all these things I want to fix. Then I take the car apart to work on it, can't drive it for weeks at a time while I'm waiting on parts or whatever, then the next thing you know it is winter again!

We had three separate artic events with snow in October in NW Montana. Kalispell had coldest October ever. They de-iced the roads with the slime. I was done early, aarrgghh.

Yep, we had to chain up to get to our hunting camp in the St. Joe (north Idaho).

Once they start salting the roads, it's best to wait until after the spring rains wash them clean before driving a collector car. Even on dry days in the winter there's enough of it on the roads that it will coat the bottom of your car.

It's not all that bad - when you get the collector car out in the spring after a long winter, it's like having a new toy every year. :) It also helps if your winter car is fun to drive.

Funny this thread is today. Today in NJ it was 60 degrees and beautiful. Got to take the Firebird out for probably the last ride this year and fill up her tank. Tomorrow is gonna be rainy/snowy and dropping down to 22. They started brining late this afternoon. I will not drive her till roads all washed clean!! Gerry

Yea, they tend to salt pretty heavy in my county, but a good rain storm washes it all away. I drive my car year round weather permitting, same with my motorcycle. As long as there is no ice im good to go.

LOL... My brother has a 73 Camaro. Has a nice SBC 406 in it. Got it painted here about 4 years ago...When he got it (from a friend of mine) THe drivetrain and exhaust were about the only things that I would consider done,properly, it did rive...
We work on one area for months, drive it 10-20 miles and then disable the thing again for another year. We need to get this momma done!!! Right now we are designing/installing a fuel system. 1/2 inch lines, Aeromotive pump, and their filters, return system.
I need to get my stuff improved too!!!

We get warm days here and there (30°-45°), but the roads are so salted they look like they're painted white.

Once the first salting of the roads happens, all the cool stuff goes away until April around here.

Tried getting out for one last ride but life kept getting in the way, Need to clean it now and put the winter
Coat on. Usually put it on dollies and push it close to the wall to give more free space in shop. It also needs some winter
attention, but will probably not get done till spring.

Yea they salt and brine here, too. One decent rain washes it off and I'm back on the road.

My car was put away last weekend for the winter, Monday night was spent working on the rear suspension so I can have it ready for the spring.
Winter is for working on them and Summer is for driving them.

Didnt get any snow after all so can still drive cars a little longer. If we have a warm day during the winter and the roads are clear I take one out for a short ride. Makes the winter seem a little shorter. I don't worry about a coating of salt on the roads as long as there is no slush.
