I was surprised to read that the 1964 Bakersfield Fuel & Gas Meet had a whole "flock" of "sidewinder" Tempest-4 dragsters entered!

Yes, that may be the one that was pictured in the Hot Rod article. Apparently stroked, since it was 250+ c.i.

You can see this one is stroked, The block has been cut and covers added on the front of engine.
