The picture of the canister mounted to the firewall was taken of a 1970 Formula 400, four speed, a/c car.

That car is long gone, so I can't check the routing for you. I'm not sure what year you're working on, but this picture was taken from the 1970 F body supplemental shop manual.

It looks like black is your vacuum source, maroon is to the hot water valve, and the gray is to the purge diaphragm.

It looks like that vacuum check valve in the black (source) vacuum hose is available from Ames Performance Engineering, part number FP341B ($12.00).

From the pic in post 2 the vacuum motor has two ports used . Mine (as pic shows) only has one open .

yes my car is a 70

dld 08-06-2020 06:40 PM

But in the diagram post . it looks to show vac motor to not use that port .

Diagram also shows NO vacuum. tank . I don't recall the vac tank on my car . so that makes sense

( Refer to post #2 above ) The black "Vac tank" on the firewall has nothing to do with AC directly. It gets hooked to the choke pull off on the Q-jet. It is only on a formula 400, NON Ram air cars, that I have seen. I have NOT seen them on a factory 2bbl 400 either.

Just reading this thread now. Not sure if you need any additional images, but my '70 T/A is an A/C car.
Car was fully restored when I got it, so I probably can't answer any assembly questions but am more than will to get you pics of whatever you need.

OK, I posted one from the under hood but got a message it was waiting for admin approval before it will post.
Once that happens it should show up

I posted some images yesterday in the "WTB Cars" thread since I got the car I had been looking for and got the same message then as well.
Maybe because I have a low post count being new?
