Sorry I didn't put all the specs. I'm very new to this car game and still learning. So Mike, Will or Paul..Feel free to chime in. The converter is a 3000 to 3200 stall. I do have KRE heads (D-port) and believe the flow is 260-270...?

I know it's one of Cliff's 9.5" converters from the new vendor he is using - maybe 3K stall?

"Well, I finished up a 455 and got it dynoed yesterday. Here are the engine specs.

455 + .030 = 462 CID. Stock 455 crank.
KRE D-port heads, exhaust opened to 1.77" valve. Bowl blend to blend valve job, and a port match to stock Fel-Pro intake gasket[not the 1233 or RAIV size]. No other porting done. Heads flowed around 265/190 CFM, IIRC. I'll have to dig up the flow sheet on them.
Lunati Voodoo HR cam, 243°/251° @ .050", ground on a 112° LSA, installed on a 105° ICL. Hylift/Johnson hydraulic roller lifters[slow bleed]
Torker II intake, unported.
10.5:1 compression.
RA exhaust manifolds with 2.5" pipe attached.

While watching the real time computer screen as it revved up, I actually saw a 551 HP number in there somewhere, but it must have been in between two data points because it doesn't show it here. Overall, not bad for unported heads, and iron exhaust manifolds."

If you notice in the engine build spec sheet, this cam was ground on a 112° LSA, and installed 7° advanced, on a 105° ICL. It made over 500 ft. lbs. from 3000-5700 RPM, and made over 500 HP from 4800-6200 RPM. These were un-ported KRE D-port heads with RA manifolds, and 2.5" pipe. Port matched to a standard blue Fel-Pro intake gasket. I put that the heads flowed 265/190, but when I looked back at the flow sheets, they actually flowed 262/190. Not too bad for a big engine with small head ports, and exhaust manifolds. This dyno sheet was with one of Jeff Koerners Holley carbs. With the carb that is on it now, and in those videos, it made about 30 HP less, or 517, IIRC.

What size/type of Holley was it dynoed with?

It was a Holley that Jeff custom built for a customers 428 Ford. I believe it was a 950 HP, but it could have been a 750 HP. By the time he gets done with them though, it probably flowed upwards of 980 CFM. It was not an off the shelf carb. Jeff buys specific float bowls, metering blocks, main bodies, throttle plates, floats, etc., for the intended use of the carb. Then he modifies them for what is needed. His carbs run like fuel injection, but much more responsive. We dynoed a race engine with a customers carb. The engine had good A/F ratios throughout the rpm range. It made 600 HP even. Jeff felt the carb was a little too big, so he built one that had a bit smaller venturis, and did his custom metering block mods, and that same engine made 699 HP without any other change. That was about the biggest gain we've seen from a simple carb change, except in one of our NASCAR SW tour engines that also gained 100 HP from a carb swap, but that was from going from a carb that flowed about 540 CFM[390 Holley] to a 950 HP that he had flowing 1049 CFM. That was a 353 CID, 9:1 compression SB Chevy engine. It went from 575 to 675 HP.

I wanted to keep running the ram air pan set up and from what I was told, other intakes would not give me the clearance that I needed. As for the 870 Street Avenger carb, that was suggested to me because of the intake. Having one of Jeff Korner's carburetors would have been great to have but for the $1,400 price tag he was asking, I chose to apply that money elsewhere. I think I may switch the carb and intake this summer after I see how this setup performs. I may go with something from Cliff. I spoke to him briefly about getting one done. All this is a learning curve for me. I don't know much about cars but I'm learning. One thing that I have learned, you can ask the same question about an engine build to 10 people and you'll get 15 different answers. hahaha.. I'm having fun with this though. This is just a fun street car to drive on the weekends.
