Leather seat conditioner

I just got a 04 GTO & wanted to know what you are using on your seats to clean & condition the leather?

I've been in the upholstery business for over 30 years, nothing you can buy at any price is better than Nivea hand lotion, for leather. Leather = skin, if it's good for your skin, it's good for leather.

Really???...??? So just get the basic Nivea hand lotion? What about to clean it with?

RandyW 11-07-2007 08:59 PM

I clean with the mildest soap I can, usually Ivory. Once you use the lotion regularly, the seats won't get anywhere near as dirty as they did, most will just wipe off with a rag and some lotion in one step.

Cool, I'll try it!

My favorite too. Once my wife noticed it, I keep finding her using it in the house.

I really like using the Z-9 cleaner with a horsehair shoe brush.

Like I said, "I've been in the upholstery business for over 30 years, nothing you can buy at any price is better than Nivea hand lotion, for leather. Leather = skin, if it's good for your skin, it's good for leather."

You can spend more money, you just can't a better conditioner.

Randy,
What do you use to rub it in with? Do you let if sit for a bit then wipe it off / buff with dry cloth?

RandyW 11-20-2007 02:42 PM

Pour it in your hand and rub it on, let it sit for a few minutes, then wipe it withe a soft terry cloth . You can use micro fiber but it will wick a lot of the lotion out.
