Windshield Butyl Tape Size

What is the correct size width butyl tape for the windshield?

This is what I bought to do the front and rear windows on my ‘64 Tempest, I bought two boxes from PY while I was ordering other parts I needed.

I used to use butyl tape years ago until I restored one of my GTOs and removed a butyl-ed in windshield. It was ridiculously easy to pop out, and I had used the proper primer. Since the reason for using laminated glass in the windshield is to help hold in the passengers in a frontal crash, the butyl tape's crappy adhesion defeats that feature.

I've since only used urethane adhesive from a caulking gun cartridge. MUCH better adhesion and better sealing too.

Might use a combination of both Butyl tape and 3m Urethane. Butyl tape to set the height, and 3m to seal it better.
I'll try this on the rear window before I tackle the front.
