Cragar S/S wheels for '66 GTO

Will Cragar part number 61815, 15X8, 4 1/4 back space fit the rear body without rubbing using 70 series or 60 series tires? Stock rear end etc. on a 1966 GTO.

Can’t help you on the size specifically (backspace sounds right as 66 rearends were typically narrower than 67s but measuring the width would be a good idea; who knows if it was changed) but you can order the wheels direct drill instead of unilug; much better fit IMO. Contact Cragar or Summit/Jegs and they should be able to help with a part number.

It all depends on the width of the 60 or 70 series tires you want to run. What size tires are you running now and what are the specs of your current rims? With that information, you can do the math to see how the new rims will work on your car.

I can tell you the 15-8 inch 4" I bought for the Impala project will not fit the 65 GTO I have. Need more back space. But the 4 1/4" 15-8 Trans Am honey comb and Turbos do fit fine.

Thanks to all of you for your suggestions etc.

I have 275-60-15s on the 65 right now as they were on the extra wheels. Don;t 66-67 have a little wider wheel well?

Though a different animal, I run the 61815’s on my 69 mounted with 255/60-15’s. On my 69 no way a 275 would fit. My personal opinion is it would be too tall if it would fit.
