Bottle feeding
Hey all, thinking of bottle feeding my car this summer.
Just want to install something cheap and easy. I have a 455, stock crank, 2 bolt mains studded, h beams and Ross pistons. Block is filled to water pump holes, 310 cfm 85cc edelbrocks, 4500 Victor, & a 1050 dominator. Electronic ing, TH400 with brake, 4500 10" convertor, 9" with 3:90 and a 28x9 slick. Car runs 10.86@123 weighs 3800 with driver. Was thinking of a small kit with 50, 75 & 100hp jets a plate system with WOT switch What's the rule of thumb with timing when spraying? Also how much up jetting, add more oxygen need more fuel right? If I use a WOT switch would It be activated and on when I use the trans brake? Is a controller better? Want to keep it simple. Also I see most basic kits don't come with a purge valve. Thanks In Advancehttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...679b33f241.jpg Sent from my Pixel 3 XL using Tapatalk |
I would start with pulling 2 degrees for every 50hp of nitrous. And yes , if you use a throttle switch the nitrous will be on when you go wide open on the trans brake. Unless you use a lock out relay that is operated by your trans brake button.

yes you have to use a relay unless you use an rpm switch set above your transbrake leave rpm. I have a ton of stuff, let me know if you want to borrow or buy anything to see what works best. I wouldnt start less than 100. its not worth the effort. I bet a 150-175 shot gets you in the 9s if converter works well enough.

Well judging by your 3800 lb weight and your current ET and mph your making about 570 hp now, so a 100 hp shot could take you down into the 10.40s range and over 126 mph if you hook it all up.

The up jetting is done by the NOS soleniod. As long as the car/carb is tuned N/A for good AFR first ..

If you want to keep it simple, put a WOT switch on for consent and use a button on the shifter or steering wheel to spray it..
There are many ways you can go.. the relay is a good option if you want it hands free. You can get a controller that will delay it for you too...also hands free. You can easily run 150-200 on that combo in my opinion.. Is this just for fun or are you a competitive racer? As far as more fuel.... yes, that's what the nitrous does, it by itself isn't flammable... it allows you to run more fuel to make the power. That is done with the fuel solenoid... the carb. set up stays the same if optimized as said earlier.. |

Thanks for the replys thus far.
This is some stuff I'm looking at. The kit is a step above the cheapest. Would this controller be adaquit or should I step up to something better? Also getting a purge kit.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...9575888fe8.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...d8fe5a3f6d.jpg Sent from my Pixel 3 XL using Tapatalk |
