Vacuum Pump Mandrel Drive

Good day all,

I've done a little web searching and haven't yet found what I'm looking for. Perhaps someone here has already dealt with this.

I have a vacuum pump and crank mandrel for the belt drive. The pulley on the crank slides on (semi-press fit) using a woodruff key and set screw. It works well enough but makes is a real pain to try to roll the motor over by hand as there are no provisions for a nut or socket on the end.

I'm curious if anyone has found a mandrel which incorporates a nut or hex head on the end so that you can turn the motor over with hand tools rather than taking it all apart to get at the crank bolt.

I know it's possible to bump the motor over with the starter but I'm hoping for something a bit more precises. Thanks in advance.

The Star Machine mandrel has what you're looking for.

I use a Moroso

Feeling foolish, my search terms perhaps kept me from finding these. I had no idea this was a "thing". I appreciate the replies. My pump came with the mandrel, wishing I had known a bit more when I purchased it and I could have asked more questions.

Thanks!

Commonly called a front drive kit. This allows you to mount multiple pulleys to the front of the motor at the same time and space them as necessary for an oil pump, vacuum pump, alternator, etc.

about 10 years ago when i was looking for one the only one at that time was from TIP, but at that time didn't have it for the pulleys i was using. i think they do now or perhaps could make one???
i have the butler one, while it works, i do miss that ability to put a wrench on the bolt to rotate the engine.
i use the march serpentine setup with the pioneer sfi balancer, and the butler mandrel. it's got some weight to it too

That's exactly my situation. I didn't want to mention where I got my unit, there's absolutely nothing wrong with its. Works exactly as advertised and the price is right but not convenient when doing things like setting valve lash or getting to TDC. I'm chalking it up to my cost of learning. It's entirely serviceable, just looking for alternatives.

Thank you all...I'm going to carve out some time tomorrow to make a few calls and gets something on the way.
