Can I safely use the stock 68 unbaffled oil pan with around 375 rwhp? At what 1/4 mile time does the pick-up become uncovered?
Thanks.

I wouldn't use a stock pan on any race application.

The problem will show up under braking at the top of the track before it shows up under acceleration. With a stock pan it's amazingly easy to starve the motor for oil.

un"baffled pan" and PRO LONG oil additive will go together!!!
do not reuse that,as is pontiac engine oil control design is poor ,use everything you can to help by adding baffel, windage tray, scrapper, and a good oil pump, like PONTIAC DUDE says in his engine assembly tips....

Just got off the phone with Jeff Kauffman. Intresting....He said run a scraper with either stock windage tray, no baffle in the pan or no windage tray, baffled pan. He uses the later in his builds. Should be good either way as he put it. Hard braking being slight problem but he didn't think so. Horsepower gains would be a toss up for the two combo.
