Aluminum pontiac torque plate wanted

Looking for an aluminum torque plate for my 461 build using a 400 block. Would love to buy a good used one. Thanks!

Probably a stretch I know, how about leads on new ones?

I did a search awhile back and there was a company selling them for 369$. Might have to buy one myself.

This is the company I had looked at. I am in need of one as well. I talked to the owner last week. Maybe if there is enough interest I can see if he will give a group discount.

Thats the company. I need one for a 4.375 bore. Maybe some of us can buy one and share it. I have no problem with the long timers around here.

I don’t know if you read the web pages. They do rent them out.

Wouldn't a set of tubular spacers, say an inch long with 1/2-13 bolts torqued to spec do the same thing a hell of a lot cheaper?

It would be better than nothing, but not quite as good in my opinion.

No. A proper tq plate bore and hone needs to have a head gasket and the same gasket used in the build. It matters. Different gasket distort different amounts.
And some do no know this but you can not just bore without one .004 under like a chevy then tq plate hone. Pontiac bores distort .006. So you bore would not be "round if done that way. You need to bore .010 under or do both bore and hone with the plate but some shops can not do that.
It simply has to do with a 1/2" bolt close to the cylinder edge @ 90 lbs. Pontiac distort more than most.

You could give BHJ a call and talk to Mike. They have made 3 plates for me in iron. They will make you an aluminum one, don't know the price. You will probably want to be sitting down.

Look up the price of a BHJ balancer. Well over 500$

I would be interested in buying one

That's a great price and I'm definitely interested in one. If you can get a group rate I'm in for sure!

I have been in contact with this company via email this week and I have an order in queue. He said there is a one and a half week lead time for any plate order.

The owner of the company is Cam Amrhein and I have been communicating with him via the email address sales@ccaracing.com.
