Anti reversion plates?

I知 thinking of trying an anti reversion plate on my Tiger head/ intake 535. Has anybody tried there and what are your thoughts. I see several companies make these.

It痴 trial and error. Some motors like other spacers more than others.

I tried a anti reversion plate on my Pontiac motor,it helped and picked up the car a bit. I tried and found my Stinnet spacer worked much better.
That was without my #1 stop on the intake. Just the carb/spacer/intake.

There's no cut in stone answer on this , but in general that kind of Carb spacer helps to dampen reversion pulses when your intakes Plenum is short on volume to do the dampening.

In a motor like yours with a proper sized/ tuned Intake runner lenght the normal reversion pulse that takes place in a NA motor will stop and reverse at a distance of about 1 1\2" beyond the end of the runner, not up closer to the bottom of the Carb where it can push air and fuel back up out of the Carbs Venturi.

Bill C really seems to like them on the Tiger intake. Might want to contact him.

I’ve got a 2” KVH tapered spacer on there now but it’s simply too tall. I’ve got to find something 1/2” to 1” that’s why I’m looking. I “heard” in the past that it works well in the Tiger intake?

Jimmy, I put Wilson Manifold shear plates under my dual Holley carbs and it picked up .10 in the 60 ft time. Car was much more responsive off the line. I had to send them the manifold top for them to cut down so they would fit but in my opinion it was worth it.

Have seen the Reher Morrison 2 piece one work well within a narrow RPM range (target range) on a 400.
It was probably correcting a runner length / cam / exhaust tuning issue, but with a single 4 it's a little hard to change alot there.
Trial a d error is the only way, and it may only work in a narrow range, but it could be a cheap fix for a hole in a Tq curve as well until the real issue is found./solved

It might work well with my throttle stop as well.

I am running the Reher Morrison plates on my 446 with the Wenzler Tunnel Ram. Car picks up a tenth with them.

I would think it would.

I ordered the Reher and Morrison plate and we,ll see how it works. I値l report back if it helps.

I made two of these some years ago for my father... Extra thin mounting pad.. Built for a big wenzler gutsram 517 engine running two 1050 carbs I think..... Not reporting any hp gains but the engine ran a lot smoother and had much better throttle response afterwards.

How do these compare with a "Super Sucker" type spacer ? The Reher Morrison plate are not expensive at all compared to a SS.

The most popular Reversion plates with ditch surrounding a shear lip works best when the port SEES the ditch and it is not shrouded from the view up the port to the ditch. What happens is in milliseconds of the exhaust energy pulse pushing back up the roof of the intake tract slames into the ditch and turns around coming down the shear lip side pulling on the incoming charge helping accelerate the incoming charge.Bill C.

The NHRA season shut down until recently. The Southern National will be my next race and then I値l know

Im sure reversion starts on the exhausr side. and Solved with the exhaust Collector length.

The word SOLVED being used. Surely the Cam profile (overlap) begins the need for a sufficient exhaust Collect length.

Seems to me, the only way to push fuel/air back up the carb venturis is with Exhaust-originated reversion.
