'71 or '72 Lemans sport or GTO body

WTB 1971 or 1972 body, prefer '71. Basically, if you have a rust-free shell that's all I need along with the straight frame. I don't need engine, trans, or even interior. Just a body on frame that doesn't need a lot of rust repair. Oh, and I mean Lemans Sport, or GTO. The closer to St. Louis, MO, the better

72 GTO's were option packages on hardtop and post coupes.

Thanks for the history lesson that I learned back around '77 or '78. So can you help me with my request? A GTO is a GTO, regardless whether it was an option package or a separate designation. Heck, a Z-28, or SS are options on Camaro or Chevelle/Malibu, but is there a distinction made in their cases? Cobra is a package on a regular Mustang, SRT-8 is a Challenger or Charger, or even a Jeep Cherokee, or Chrysler 300. Bottom line is, SO WHAT?

You probably don't think my '04 and my '06 GTOs are "real" GTOs, either, but they are VERY real to me.

1971 was the last year that the GTO carried the infamous 242 designation, but MY favorite year is the 1972, even though the differences were very modest. Yet, the minor changes were enough to determine which year I preferred, and the lack of a 242 made no difference to me, still doesn't.

I meant that there were GTO Post Coupes with B pillars and vent windows in '72, versus all hardtops 70-71. '72 is one of favorite years of Goat, '64 being my top pick.

Didn't know if were interested in those rare models. Sorry to repeat the "option" part. I love all GTO's, including the 2000's models.

Ok, I replied to your pm a couple of days ago, but no response. Since I have nothing to hide I'll go ahead and put my numbers out to you and anyone else who may have what I'm looking for. My home number is 636-926-0186 or cell 314-486-6024. I don't answer my cell at work but I check for messages periodically, and I'm not home during the day, but still have answering machine.

I am VERY interested in a legit '71, legal title body that needs no rust repair. The price I'm willing to pay is contingent upon the cost of repairing the body I already have. I will pay a fair price but I also have to factor in getting the body to St. Charles, Missouri.

Are you still looking for a body?

Chief,
Do you know of anyone that might be interested in a ‘72 455 HO 4 speed GTO?
Tim Fleming.
